A key Consultant with the company for many years, Philip is a Director with Dakin Mayers, where he continues to serve his extensive and loyal client base with his extraordinary level of energy, enthusiasm, commitment and professionalism.

A qualified lawyer originally from South Africa, Philip gained valuable international experience in senior management within the health and aged care sectors.  After graduating from the London Business School, Philip became a Director of a major South African company, responsible not only for legal counsel, but also for human resources matters.  He later moved to Australia to take up the role of Chief Executive Officer with one of Melbourne’s leading Aged Care providers, the Montefiore Homes for the Aged.

With his passion for finding the right people to run organisations, Philip turned to HR Consulting, and since 1990, he has specialised in undertaking strategically important Executive Search and Recruitment assignments, which enhance and support the growth of his clients’ organisations.  In addition, Philip undertakes Consulting assignments such as organisational reviews and remuneration benchmarking, and for several years was a sessional lecturer in Human Resources at Victoria University.

While Philip has just completed a term as Deputy Chairman of the Royal District Nursing Service, he has served as a Director of the Rotary Club of Melbourne, Chairman of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Australia, and is currently Deputy Chairman of Make-A-Wish Foundation International, which operates in 35 countries from its headquarters in the USA.  At both RDNS and MAW he chaired the Nomination (Board Recruitment) Committees, furthering his expertise in corporate governance and key appointments for the Not-For-Profit sector.

Philip is a Member of the Fundraising Institute of Australia, AHRI and also Vice-President of the Melbourne Alumni of the London Business School. He is Chairman of the Melbourne Alumni of the University of the Witwatersrand (South Africa).
